March 13 Instagram Live: How Guatemalan Farmers Are Coping with Climate Change and the Pandemic

Join the @coffeeroastersguild on Instagram Live this Saturday, March 13, for a conversation on how Guatemalan farmers are coping with climate change and the coronavirus pandemic.

CRG 2nd Vice-Chair Stephen Houston speaks to Michaela Tomchek, a specialty coffee researcher and freelance writer working to promote the sustainable development of coffee-producing communities. She currently works for Mercanta North America.

Michaela has recently spent some time in Guatemala where she visited several farms investigating not only how climate change and leaf rust are impacting farmers, but also how they are adapting during the global pandemic. We will also be looking at the issues around the future of coffee growers and the future of coffee in general in Guatemala.
