Roaster Camp 2016
Pärnu, Estonia | 6-8 October
Roaster Camp launched in October 2016 with three days of diverse workshops, inspiring seminars, hands-on roasting experience and challenges aimed at connecting and developing roasters from across Europe. Produced and supported by the Roaster Guild of Europe working group, Roaster Camp will become a compulsory event in the diary of European roasters.
This year saw 99 Roaster Camp delegates from 30 countries arriving to Estonia Resort & Spa to receive hands-on training with roasting equipment, a diverse range of classes with well regarded industry professionals and access to a range of green coffee provided by our partners. An additional 30 volunteers, trainers, crew and international speakers were also onsite, interacting with sponsors’ coffee and equipment as they prepared for classes, lectures, and large-scale tastings.
The range of workshops on offer to camp attendees included roasting, green coffee, and sensory, all taking inspiration from the SCAE Coffee Diploma System. Afternoon seminars and round-table discussions on a broad range of topics related to roasting gave delegates the opportunity to debate and share their practices, encouraging development and strengthening the network at camp.
